Wenn man von Cashibo noch ein paar Kilometer weiterfährt, landet man an der "Cocha". Dort unterhält sich die Missionsgesellschaft SAM einen kleinen Flugplatz. Wenn man mit dem Boot weiterfährt, kommt man in das Indianerdorf Santa Teresita. Als ich in Cashibo ankam, war das Ufer der Cocha kaum ein Meter tief, schlammig und ca. 30 Grad heiss. Seit es hier mehr geregnet hat, ist das Wasser um etwa zwei Meter gestiegen und ist nun angenehme 27 Grad warm. So sind wir letzten Sonntagnachmittag mit fast ganz Cashibo dorthingefahren zum Baden, Schwimmen und uns im Wasserskifahren zu versuchen. Letzteres ist allerdings gar nicht so einfach, vor allem das Hochkommen aus dem Wasser. Bei mir blieb es vorläufig bei Versuchen. Da es bei den momentanen Bedingungen sicher noch weitere Wochenedausflüge an die Cocha gibt, war das sicher nicht die letzte Gelegenheit dazu.
When you continue on the road leading to Cashibo you get to the "Cocha". There SAM, an American Mission organisation has a small airport. And if you continue by boat across the water you get to Santa Teresita, a small village of natives. When I first was at the Cocha in September, the water was very low and way too warm - no chance of cooling down. Since it has been raining more, the water has risen above 2 meters and the water is a wonderful 27 degrees warm. So last Sunday afternoon all of Cashibo has been there bathing and taking a swim. One could even try water-skiing. Well, it proofed to be more tricky than thought, so there is room for improvement on the next nice Sunday afternoons to come.
